Blue collar, Middle America, Heartland, and Joe Sixpack are labels used to describe a great portion of our population; the rank and file and brush script is often used to cater to average tastes. It may be drawn simply without affectation, appearing on supermarket food products or may be highly stylized for Dean & Doluca brands. The style occupies an important place in advertising and graphic design.

Elvis touched the multitudes, me for one, and what better style for his name in a spirited script? The logo became a header for MGM’s collection of Elvis movies for their video library.
